Client First Insurance Services maintains a 'select brokerage' philosophy because we believe that serving a limited number of clients results in a higher service/satisfaction quotient for our employer partners. Our current client portfolio includes organizations that range from start-ups to mid-sized organizations of 50 to 250+ employees, to an organization with more than 1400 employees.

We work in a variety of environments, which include biotech companies, home health care, and non-profit hospitals. In addition, we have expertise in working with organizations that include collective bargaining units and addressing the additional complexities inherent in designing cost-effective benefit solutions in those environments.

Our Experts
Gretchen Brosius has been a Principal and owner of Client First Insurance Services for 6 years. Prior to ownership she spent 13 years as a negotiator of managed care contracts and employee health benefits administration for a large California hospital. Gretchen additionally spent 3 years working for a local non-profit agency, partnering with health plans to finance care for the frail elderly by negotiating specialized services that routinely fell outside of the usual benefit parameters. With a MPH from UC Berkeley, she brings education and knowledge of health plan operations as well as employer needs from the perspective of both the buyer and seller.

Jeff Sher has been an insurance broker for 19 years. A graduate of Stanford University, Jeff comes to insurance services via a career as a journalist, keeping the critical and skeptical eye of a trained investigator. He has been effective in working within the cost constraints all employers are experiencing while finding innovative solutions to decrease cost-shifting to employees.
